MIDAS is a data acquisition system under the GPL which is used in particle and nuclear experiments. The software contains a library which can be used for data transport between different computers and programs, and a set of programs for data logging and system management. Experiment configuration is stored in a fast online database and Web interface makes experiments remotely controllable. A slow control system is integrated which can be used to control high voltages and measure thinks like temperatures. Although the system is independent of any specific hardware, it is mostly used in VME, FASTBUS and CAMAC systems.
